IS TRUMP TURNING ON IVANKA? Ivanka Trump’s testimony was revealed during the televised hearings of the House January 6 committee regarding the assault on the Capitol. In these previously unseen statements, Ivanka said she accepted that the election results were valid.
Donald Trump’s response to this testimony suggests that he does not agree with Ivanka’s opinions and that he will deny anything that contradicts what he has said about his role in the attempted coup. Trump’s response to his daughter hinted that the relationship between the two is deteriorating.
DONALD TRUMP SPEAKS OUT AGAINST IVANKA?
Following Ivanka Trump’s statements at the public hearing on the events of January 6, Donald Trump was defensive and stated that his daughter did not participate in reviewing the election results. The former president asserted that his daughter had “checked out” and that perhaps she was just being “respectful” to Bill Barr.
“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results. She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!),” Donald Trump wrote on his social media platformTruth Social, according to Politico.
Did Ivanka play a neutral role on January 6?
Donald Trump’s aggressive response to his daughter’s testimony comes after the statements provided by Attorney General Barr in the interviews he gave to the committee were supported by Ivanka Trump. Everything seems to indicate that the former president was upset by his daughter’s remarks.
“It affected my perspective. I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was saying, ” Ivanka Trump said in a video recorded for the committee that is in charge of investigating the events of January 6. Ivanka agreed with what Barr had said in earlier testimony, Politico noted. Filed Under: Ivanka Trump
Did Trump want to minimize Ivanka’s role?
After Trump’s response came out on Truth Social, some people have indicated that he was trying to minimize Ivanka’s role in the incident. President of the select committee, Bennie Thompson, offered statements to CNN, pointing out that the former president’s response is a clear example that he was lying.
“For him to somehow insinuate that his daughter had checked out is disingenuous on his part as a father. Daughters normally know what their fathers are doing, especially when there is a close relationship,” Thompson said in the CNN interview. Filed Under: Ivanka Trump
An arduous investigation?
The House panel investigating the June 6 attack on Capitol Hill is set to release more details and testimony this week about its assessment that Trump knew he had lost the election, The Associated Press said. At the moment, it is known that around 1,000 interviews and 140,000 documents will be exposed in the coming hearings to clarify the possible crimes Trump and his supporters committed.
“For several months, Donald Trump oversaw and coordinated a sophisticated seven-part plan to nullify the presidential election and prevent the transfer of presidential power,” Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyoming, said at the hearing Thursday night, according to The Associated Press.
Did Trump lash out at others as well?
But Ivanka’s testimony wasn’t the only thing that seemed to have upset Donald Trump. In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump railed against Liz Cheney due to the statements she offered about his seven-part plan overturn the election and prevent Biden from taking power.
“I NEVER said, I never even thought of saying, ‘Hang Mike Pence.’ This is a story invented by someone looking to become a star or FAKE NEWS!” Said the former president on the social network that he helped found. At the moment, Donald Trump is still reacting to comments about his participation in the assault on the Capitol.
