Josué Ángel Leal was sentenced to life imprisonment in Texas, for being responsible for the beating murder of Kevin A. Bartlett at his home. The Harris County District Attorney, in Houston, revealed that Leal heard his sentence on Thursday afternoon, July 1, 2021, after five days of trial.
Judge Josh Hill of the Harris County 232 Criminal District Court read his sentence to Josué Ángel Leal after he was found guilty and informed him that he will never have the right to leave even if he shows good behaviour in prison. Leal, 26, will only be released from prison after he has died.

In her testimony, the woman also revealed Leal’s violent and volatile character. Agents, upon reviewing the boy’s background, discovered that he had at least one prior arrest charged with violent robbery. That set off alarms for investigators with the HCSO’s Homicide Division.
