The altercation between the singer and the music label has led to more dangerous terrain. Universal requested the Mexican Association of Producers of Phonograms and Videograms (AMPROFON)  ban the singer for breach of the agreements stipulated in the contract.

The association issued a warning letter to ban Nodal’s music and work in the country and prevent any type of dissemination of his material, which led the singer to react negatively on social media.

A video of Nodal was shared on the official Instagram account of El Gordo y La Flaca. In the video, he looks serious and annoyed while talking about the action taken by his label. The singer asks that his video be disseminated since it does not seem fair that there is a “slavery to artists” with record labels.

“I wanted to do this live because something serious is happening and I wanted to clarify things because many of my fans are very concerned with everything that has been said about me, about my career these last days of the ban that Universal is putting me on, I wanted leave everyone alone and I wanted you to help me spread this video because it is impossible for them to continue committing this type of slavery to artists,” commented on his video. Christian Nodal banned by Universal. What does it mean?

When the ban is approved, businessmen, event promoters, audiovisual and audio content platforms (YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, among others), television stations such as TV Azteca and Televisa, radio stations and artists, his fiancée Belinda, for example, will not be able to share, distribute, or sell any audio and audiovisual recording of Christian Nodal.

The legal battle between the Sonoran performer and the Universal Music label began last October. The singer prepared to file an appeal against the lawsuit filed by Universal, which was approved by a district judge.
