Hours after legendary Puerto Rican catcher Yadier Molina reached an agreement to stay an additional year with the St. Louis Cardinals, he announced that he will say goodbye to baseball as soon as the 2022 season concludes.

The announcement was made by the 39-year-old on Wednesday through a press conference via zoom with the San Luis media.

Molina and the Cardinals reached a deal yesterday for the 2022 season valued at $ 10 million. In this way, Molina would end his career with 19 seasons in the Cardinals uniform.
