In late 2019, Jacob Mace, who worked for Walmart, committed suicide with a shotgun purchased from one of its southern Maryland locations, just as he was on lunch break.

“We are committed to being a responsible firearms dealer and we take these allegations seriously,” said Randy Hargrove, a spokesman for Walmart, adding that the company will not discuss details of the case outside of court.
