- On Thanksgiving night a man kills his stepson.
- The heinous crime was only because the minor looked so much like his real father.
- After murdering Andrés, his stepfather fled.
There are many cold-blooded murders that go unpunished and everything indicates that the vile crime of a talented Hispanic young man from Georgia will be another one of them. And, after firing four shots into his chest, Andrés Arias’ cowardly executioner left the scene and since then no one has heard from him again.
Andrés was a prominent high school student who was waiting to be at least 17 years old to run away from home. He wanted to leave not for his own pleasure, but since his stepfather had been making life impossible for him for a long time.
Thanksgiving Chronicle: Man kills his stepson
Cristino Ramos Santos kept a deep secret for several years: hatred towards his stepson for resembling his biological father. Ramos and his wife had a child, but even the fact that 16-year-old Andrés was her son’s older brother was not enough to appease her rejection of him, and all because of unfounded jealousy.
The situation in this family’s home gradually became chaotic … like a little hell on earth, I would say, based on the information that some of those close to the family gave me. Ramos, a 35-year-old adult, completely stopped talking to the teenager and apparently verbally abused him whenever he could. Filed Under: Thanksgiving Chronicle Kills Stepson
It all started with some messages on his cell phone
Andrés, a prominent high school student, was waiting to be at least 17 years old to run away from home, because at that age, Georgia law already allows him to make his own decision about who to live with. In fact, right now he would be 21, but unfortunately, his spiteful stepfather prevented him from growing older.
On Thanksgiving night 2015, Ramos was drunk, which he used to do after work hours. His partner discovered inappropriate messages on his cell phone and they began to argue. Ramos, who according to the version of some of his acquaintances considered himself “a macho male”, became very angry at the claims of his life partner and began to beat her. He just tried to defend his mother
The young man could not bear to see that scene and got up to plead for his mother. He also ended up beaten, but defended himself as best he could. Ramos was upset. His reaction was: “I am leaving this house, but I am taking my brother with me.” He took the two-year-old in his arms and left the apartment. Behind him was his mother crying and screaming and Andrés, ready to prevent his little brother from being taken away.
They managed to reach Ramos and take the infant from him, which ended up enraging him. Then he opened his truck and pulled out a gun. The Mexican pointed the gun at his stepson’s chest and until then he brought to light all the hatred he carried inside. “How you look like your dad … die miserable”, and unloaded the revolver four times at the boy. It was an immediate death
When the policeman and the paramedics arrived it was too late. They could do nothing to save him, since unfortunately Andrés had died on the spot. Instead of staying and showing his face like a man, his stepfather got into his vehicle and fled to avoid being captured.
A couple of days after this horrible tragedy, I was at Andres’s funeral. It hurt me as much to see his fellow students from Lakeside High School holding placards with the slogan “you are a hero”, and to highlight the way in which he lost his life defending the beings he loved the most. The murder had no explanation
But the most difficult thing was listening to the child’s mother crying out through tears and wondering why she should have killed him. “What great harm did he do you? What was your great crime? Look like your dad? You are a damn … “. Since that fateful day that Andrés was savagely murdered, the police have not stopped searching for his stepfather.
Unfortunately, they believe that he is already well hidden in Mexico and they fear that this will prevent them from making him pay for his misdeed. I remember once accompanying a dozen officers from the city of Suwanee to an operation in a local motel, believing that he was hiding there. Filed Under: Thanksgiving Chronicle Kills Stepson
It seems that the murderer was swallowed by the earth
A week after Andrés’s crime, they received information that the suspect was possibly staying there. When they went to inspect, they found a truck similar to the one the defendant used to flee after the shooting. The vehicle had no license plates, which set off its alarms.
They mounted an operation and they fell on him, but unfortunately, he was not at the site, so they left empty-handed. Six long years have already passed since Andrés’s life was cut short. Justice has not yet been served for his murderer, but I know that sooner or later it will.
Sooner or later he will pay dearly for what he did
The saddest thing is that like Andrés, right now there are many children and adolescents suffering in silence at the hands of heartless stepparents and stepmothers who for some reason are incapable of loving them.
They are true hypocrites, selfish and irresponsible, because if they sought or accepted their partner knowing that they already had children from previous relationships, it is their moral obligation to also ensure the well-being of the little ones. But I also cannot ignore the fact that parents also have some guilt that children are suffering. Filed Under: Thanksgiving Chronicle Kills Stepson
It is never too late to quit abusive relationships
With so many men leaving their homes and leaving their families alone to go on an adventure and women who in order to support them and meet their needs, prefer that their children suffer instead of putting themselves to work hard to get ahead.
Please community! Let us react before it is too late. May the sad case of Andrés serve as a reminder that the enemy can often be in the same house. And that it also serves as an example of what should never be endured in a home. Let’s put into practice the famous adage that “he who loves the hen must also love his chicks” and full stop… Thank you for reading my column today. Until next time.
