According to the arrest warrant against Casas, consulted by MundoHispánico In Texas, the Hispanic is accused of having beaten 54-year-old Ricky Dowal Etheridge to death at the time of death.

MPD detectives noted, verbatim, that Casas is allegedly responsible for a «criminal homicide» after Etheridge’s body was discovered.

The story of the stranger violent homicide, because it is not usual for someone to kill another person only with blows, it was discovered by chance.

On Tuesday, August 1, a person, it is not detailed in the documents who, at 5:00 in the afternoon called the emergency number of the MPD to request that an agent come to Etheridge’s house because they had not known anything for days. he and his family and friends were concerned.

An MPD patrolman attended the report and went to the house marked 1000 North 15th Street, in the south of the McAllen metropolitan area, to check that the man was alright.

The officer knocked on the door of the two-story yellow brick house and was then struck by the fact that the door was ajar.

After no one answered, the MPD patrolman entered the house and found the resident lying in the living room and when he came to check the body, he found that the man had already lost his life.

After the discovery of the agent of the man’s body, who reported the discovery and requested reinforcements, the agents of the Homicide Division arrived at the scene to carry out the investigation in the house that was in disarray and with signs of a violent fight.

Medical examiners in Hidalgo County, where McAllen is located, determined the next day that the victim had died from severe blows to various parts of the body.

So far it has not been possible to determine with precision if the attack against Etheridge and that took the life of the alleged murderer used an object when he attacked his victim.

On Friday, August 4, 2020, after three days of investigations, detectives from the Homicide Division issued the arrest warrant for René Everrett Casas for being the alleged person responsible for the death of Ricky Dowal Etheridge.
