Although the police have not identified the culprit in the shooting, they reported that a teenager involved in the crime was arrested and that the young man had a firearm in his possession. “Too many children are killing themselves now,” said Randy Galvin, the victim’s father, after placing flowers and candles at the site where his son had been shot and killed the day before.

Although the police have detained a suspect, they might have a second suspect in the shooting. Also, on Wednesday, crisis counselors were available to provide support at Roosevelt High School where the victim was a student.

“I don’t know if they knew each other. I don’t know if it was an argument, but there was some kind of discussion before the shooting,” Los Angeles Police Department Captain German Hurtado said Tuesday. Jeremy’s grieving father said during a tribute that he had seen his son just hours before he died.

“He was a good boy, you know?” Randy Galvin told Telemundo. Roosevelt High School issued a statement to parents after the shooting. “It is with deep sadness that I call to inform you of the death of one of our students,” said Principal Ben Gertner. “Our condolences to the student’s family, friends, and teachers.”
