In the middle of the Patrio Month, Taco Bell gives a ‘blow’ to Mexico by eliminating Mexican Pizza from its menu, a movement that the fast food restaurant found it difficult to become a trend in Twitter.

But not only will the Mexican Pizza be removed from the Taco Bell menu, but all the cymbals that include shredded chicken.

So the Shredded Chicken Soft Taco, Shredded Chicken Burrito, and Shredded Chicken Melted Quesadilla will also be off the menu.

The good news is that they will be adding new dishes to the menu: Chipotle Melt Chicken and Dragonfruit Freeze, according to the USA Today.

Another ‘low blow’ for Mexico and Mexicans who like Taco Bell food is that fresh diced tomatoes will replace pico de gallo.

“We are constantly evaluating ways to provide a more efficient restaurant experience and have already begun to see progress in simplifying our menu,” said Mike Grams, president of Taco Bell, global chief operating officer, in a press release.

“While we know that fans can be understandably saddened to see some of their favorite (dishes) disappear, this evolution of our menu really paves the way for new ideas,” Grams added in the same statement.

And it is not the first time that Taco Bell has eliminated dishes from its menu. Just last August, the Mexican food chain removed a dozen items, including the Grilled Steak Mild Taco, 7-Layer Burrito, Quesarito, Nachos Supreme, Beef Fried Burrito, Spicy Tostada, Triple Layer Nachos, Spicy Potato Squishy Taco, Fiesta Cheesy Potatoes, Loaded Grills, Chips & Sauces, and Mini Skillet Bowl.

But all is not lost for fans of Mexican Pizza and shredded chicken dishes, as they will still have time to enjoy these dishes and say goodbye to them.

Taco Bell announced in the same statement that the aforementioned dishes will stop selling from November.

While the new Dragonfruit Freeze, a frozen tropical drink, will be available throughout the United States from September 24.

That same day, Taco Bell will begin testing the new Quesalupa only in Knoxville, Tennessee. This dish could be added to restaurants across the country in 2021, according to the fast food chain.

While the premiere of the Chipotle Melt chicken is scheduled for next November 5.

Another piece of good news is the price, as the dish will be added to the Cravings Value menu at restaurants across the country starting at $ 1.

The Melt features grilled chicken with marinated white meat, a creamy chipotle sauce, and melted rolled cheddar cheese.

To compensate for the fact that Mexican pizza will no longer be on the menu, Taco Bell announced that salsa verde will also return in November, although only to selected restaurants.

After a negative streak due to the closure of activities caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) and which caused the dismissal of millions of people in the United States, Taco Bell communicated its plans to expand its workforce, which will include the creation and hiring of new roles in the premises to guarantee the security measures, cleanliness and social distancing required while the pandemic lasts

The Taco Bell company pointed out that all its employees would undergo body temperature checks and would be required to wear gloves and masks provided by the company.

In recent months, unemployment in the United States has grown to record levels due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The recovery of the sector came just before the summer, coinciding with the economic reopening and with the increase in spending by customers, a situation that in normal years forces many chains to increase their hiring, especially of teenagers and students looking to work during the summer to pay for their studies.
