On this occasion, authorities in Scarborough, Maine, confirmed a shooting that took place in a Walmart parking lot on Wednesday afternoon. After breaking the news and causing panic among customers, local authorities offered more details about what happened.

Scarborough police responded to the shooting in the Walmart parking lot at around 6:30 p.m. There, a suspect who «blatantly» remained on the scene was arrested. Police could not confirm that he was the only one involved, according to WMTW.

Bryan Johns, 36, was arrested by local police after firing his gun and participating in the shooting in the parking lot of the Scarborough Walmart. The man was found in a Jeep after the gunfire that sparked panic in the  Maine superstore.

Local authorities said the suspect was very «forthcoming» about his actions, according to WMTW. The reasons that Bryan Johns decided to begin shooting in the Walmart parking lot, and who he fired his weapon at, remain unknown. The report does not mention any injuries resulting from the shooting.

Hours after the incident, the man was accused of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, according to local media. After the chilling events, Bryan Johns was taken to the Maine Medical Center, where he was treated for superficial injuries, according to the local media.

According to the report, another vehicle managed to flee from the retailer’s parking lot. The exact relationship between the fleeing vehicle and the man found in the jeep is not known. Information such as the make and model of the car are still under investigation according to WMTW.

As of the writing of this article, it is unknown if the person who fled was injured or if they also used a weapon in the Walmart parking lot.
