The murder of the young Roslyn Ramón has shocked the Hispanic community of Corpus Christi, a coastal city in southeastern Texas. The CCPD Homicide Division officers discovered that a GoPro camera was installed in the Ford Fusion’s dashboard. They also found that it was on during the incident. The video from the GoPro camera was the first piece of evidence to assist them in solving the crime.

In the investigation, the CCPD agents saw clear images of a white Dodge Journey truck. The images show a Hispanic man in the truck, chasing Roslyn’s group and shooting at them.

Through a Texas vehicle search, the CCPD agents discovered that the truck was a white 2015 Dodge Journey. It belonged to a Hispanic couple from Corpus Christi.

Early in the morning, the CCPD agents visited the couple who owned the white Dodge Journey truck to find out if they had any involvement in the shooting. When the officers arrived at the house, they were greeted by a woman, and her husband proved to be the truck’s owner.

Esten Chávez’s wife gave her testimony

The woman told the officers that, at the time Roslyn Ramón was shot, the Dodge Journey truck was being driven by her husband, Esten Chávez. Actually, the couple are not married. However, in Texas, a couple living together for more than three years are considered common law spouses.

After hearing the woman’s story, the officers found that Esten Chávez’s appearance matched that of the man who shot at Roslyn and her companions. The officers waited at the house for Estén Chávez to return so they could question him about the incident.

Why did Esten Chávez kill Roslyn Ramón?

During questioning, Esten Chávez admitted to driving the Dodge Journey truck, which he co-owned with his wife, at the time Roslyn Ramón and her friends were shot in the Ford Fusion. The man even admitted to reading about the shooting on the news.
