Take advantage of the sweetness of the guavas that you have left at home and prepare this delicious recipe Carlota de Guayaba, made with cookies and an extra guava cream.

For this dessert without an oven, you need to cook the sweet guava until, when passing a spoon, it is so thick that it does not come together with the mixture.

Ingredients

  • 750 grams of guava, for the guava sweet
  • 1 cup of sugar, for the guava sweet
  • 1/2 cups of Water, for the guava sweet
  • 1 cinnamon stick, for the guava sweet
  • 3 packages of cream cheese, for the carlota (190g each)
  • 1 cup of condensed milk, for the carlota
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, for the carlota
  • enough of Maria cookie
  • 1 envelope of gelatin, for the mirror (hydrated and melted) (7 g)
  • enough of guava, cut into slices, to decorate
  • enough of lemon, sliced, to decorate
  • enough of jam, or apricot glitter, to decorate

  • The preparation

  • Step 1: Blend the guavas with the sugar and cinnamon. Strain.
  • Step 2: In a saucepan over low heat, cook the guava sweet for 15 minutes without stopping moving, until it thickens. Remove and chill. Divide the candy into two parts.
  • Step 3: Beat the cream cheese with the condensed milk, 1 ¼ cups of the guava paste, and the lemon juice until smooth.
  • Step 4: On a 20 cm diameter ring, arrange the cookies forming a base. Add some of the guava cream and cover with more cookies. Repeat the process until the ring is full. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.
  • Step 5: For the mirror, 1 ½ cups of guava paste with the hydrated gelatin. Pour the mixture into the ring and refrigerate again until firm.
  • Step 6: Unmold the carlota and decorate with guavas, lemons and varnish with jam or glitter. It serves.
