Kamala Harris Threatened. A South Florida nurse accused of making videos where she threatened to kill the vice president Kamala Harris was arrested on federal charges.
Niviane Petit Phelps, of Miami Gardens, was arrested following an investigation by the United States Secret Service, reported NBC Miami.
Videos to her imprisoned husband
The 39-year-old woman, who has worked for Jackson Health System since 2001, faces charges of threats against the vice president, according to a criminal complaint.
The complaint says that Phelps had sent videos to her husband, who is incarcerated in Crawfordville, through a computer application that allows families to connect with inmates.
From talking about hate to talking about murder
In the videos, Phelps is seen “complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about his hatred for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, among others,” the complaint says.
But in February, Phelps began making statements about Harris’s murder, according to the complaint.
“Your days are numbered”
“Kamala Harris, you are going to die. Your days are already numbered. Someone paid me $ 53,000 just to f ****** and I’ll do the job, okay? ”Phelps said in a video, according to the complaint.
In another, he talks about going to a shooting range, according to the complaint.
Threats and rudeness
“I’m going to the shooting range, just for your ass, until you leave the chair,” he supposedly said.
The complaint says investigators also found a photo showing Phelps at a shooting range, holding a pistol and smiling next to a target with bullet holes.
Applied for concealed weapons permit
Phelps also applied for a concealed weapons permit in February, according to the complaint.
Phelps later told investigators that she was angry that Harris would become vice president, but that she was “already over it,” the complaint said.
The hospital says it suspended her without pay
In a statement, Jackson Health said that Phelps has worked for them since 2001, spending the past two years as a licensed practical nurse at Ambulatory Care Center West at Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
“She has been suspended without pay while we process her dismissal,” the hospital system statement reads.
Her mother says she’s sick
Heroeia Petit, Phelps’ mother, told NBC 6 that her daughter is “sick” and “doesn’t even know what she’s doing.” She hopes the charges can be dropped.
“Don’t punish her … because you heard what people were saying to you,” Petit said. “… She’s desperate. Has nothing to do. Her husband has been in jail for 10 years, two children. The house, he lost everything ”.
