New Public Library headquarters inaugurated in the city of Duluth, Georgia. Gwinnett County officials gathered to inaugurate the new headquarters of the Public Library in the City of Duluth, located at 3180 Main Street, Duluth 30096, which was funded by the 2009 and 2014 SPLOST programs.

“We are very excited to open our new library in Duluth. We invite the entire Latino community to visit us,” Charles Pace, executive director of the Gwinnett County Public Library, told MundoHispánico.

“What we are doing with the Duluth library has a great connection to the summer reading challenge and how we are through that reading challenge helping the Latino community because the entire program is in Spanish,” said Victoria Hopkins, director. Gwinnett County Public Libraries Marketing and Communications Officer.

For his part, Don Giacomini, youth services specialist at the Gwinnett County Public Library indicated that they will offer reading hours for all families and all ages. «The library is going to give them prizes just for reading and completing educational activities,» he added.

According to information released to the media, the new library location is approximately twice the size of the original and offers features including two learning labs with areas for sewing, crafts, 3D printing, coding, and more.

This new Duluth City Public Library headquarters will also feature 30 adult computer stations and six children’s stations, and a meeting room that can accommodate 120 people with retractable walls to add capacity.

Mission to support the informative interest of visitors

The mission of the new headquarters of the Public Library in the city of Duluth is to support the informational, educational and recreational interest of visitors, with convenient, creative and friendly access for them to have access to materials and services.

“We are very happy and grateful for this opening in Duluth. This library is precious especially for the Hispanic community to come together and learn a lot, ”said Silvia King of the Gwinnett County team.

Services to be offered by the new Duluth headquarters

Some of the services that the new headquarters of the Public Library in the city of Duluth will be offering to the community are reading clubs, help to prepare curriculum or resume, language classes, cooking program, online events seven days of the week, among others aimed at the whole family.

Customer service hours will be from Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 noon to 5 p.m. For more information in the Spanish language, those interested can contact the number 855-938-0434.
