On the second time that MundoHispánico competes as a digital medium in its history and after 8 nominations for the Southeastern Regional Emmy Awards of this 2020, this Saturday night was raised with two statuettes.

Here are the categories to which MundoHispánico was nominated at the 46th edition of the Emmy Awards:

The two Emmy Awards that MundoHispanico received in what was an atypical virtual celebration were in the On camera talent / Reporter Investigative categories that corresponded to Elie Dib Caiazzo and in Interview / Discussion with Alfredo Suárez.

Last year, MundoHispánico, part of Mundo Hispano Digital Network, obtained 10 nominations and was finally recognized with six Emmy Awards, during a ceremony held in Atlanta.

MundoHispánico’s news site was the first and only digital medium in Spanish to be nominated in five categories in the Southeastern Emmy Awards 2019, according to the statement in which an express congratulation is made to the nominees.

The 6 Emmy Awards that MundoHispanico received last year were in the categories: Human Interest for the work “Mexican receives help”, by María Alejandra Bastidas, Diego Silva and Alfredo Suárez.

The second prize was in the News Single Story category, for the work ‘Samantha Ramírez, a Dreamer’, by Miguel Martínez.

The third Emmy of the night was in the Promotion News Promo Single Spot category, for the immigration portal Somos Amigos de MundoHispánico, represented by Diego Silva and Judith Martínez.

The fourth awarded category was Sports Program-Program Series, for the work ‘Hispanic Fans in the NFL’, by Alfredo Suárez and Diego Silva.

While the fifth category corresponded to the Continuing Coverage category, carried out by Carlos Moreno under the title ‘They brutally beat a Hispanic child for racism’.

And the last Emmy of the night for MundoHispánico was for Diego Silva, in the Director category.
