María Molina is accused of three homicides in a shooting (PHOTOS)

María Molina was arrested in Texas accused of being part of a group of people who shot and killed three other men. The Homicide Division of the Garland Police Department (GPD) revealed on Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2021, the girl’s arrest, who faces three charges of homicide.

In legal terms, the situation of María Fernanda Molina, 25, is very complicated, because according to the Texas State Penal Code each murder charge is punishable by a sentence of 20 to 99 years in jail for whoever is found guilty of that charge, after facing trial and the girl faces three charges for that crime.

The legal documents of the case, consulted by MundoHispánico in Texas, they detail that María Molina was part of the group of three people who shot and attacked three Hispanics last Monday, August 9, 2021 outside an apartment complex in Garland, a city located in the northeast of the Dallas metropolitan area.

In the shooting for which they accuse María Molina, 17-year-old Bryce Brittain was shot dead; Javier Coronado, 18 years old; and José Martínez, 40 years old. The agents of the Homicide Division of the GPD revealed that there are two other young women associated with the crime with María Molina although, so far, they only know the identity of one of them.

At 11:00 pm last Monday, August 9, 2021, the GPD emergency number received several calls from frantic and scared neighbors who reported that outside the Orchard Hills Apartments housing complex, 1300 West Kingsley Road, there were an intense shooting that had them confined in their homes.

The first patrolmen to arrive at the crime scene found three people outside the apartment complex, who were badly wounded from several gunshots. The agents requested the presence of the paramedics of the Garland Fire Department (GFD) to care for the injured.

However, when GFD paramedics arrived at the scene of the shooting, they could no longer do anything for the three men and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Then the agents of the Homicide Division took up the case, who investigated the details prior to the shooting that alarmed the neighbors.

According to some people who spoke to authorities, the three dead men were outside their respective apartments when three other young men suddenly approached in a car. All three, according to testimonies, were Hispanic and confronted the victims.

The agents of the GFD Homicide Division recovered images from the security cameras of some departments, between 10:30 and 10:45 at night, where at least two people are seen approaching the victims and they get into a heated argument.

In the investigation, the agents do not detail what triggered the discussion between the victims and the perpetrators. However, officers from the GFD Homicide Division know that at least one of those killed today had a prior conflict with at least two of the shooters. One of the people killed had nothing to do with the conflict.

The discussion escalated and at one point the newcomers drew pistols from their clothes and fired at the other three men at close range. The accusation against the young María Molina does not detail whether she was one of the two people who drew a weapon. Anyway, the girl faces charges for those three homicides.

After the shooting, the two shooters run to the street where a car was waiting for them and they escape at full speed, protecting themselves by the darkness of the night before the first GFD patrols arrived, alerted by the frightened neighbors who were in their houses.

The escape route for María Molina and the other two boys was instrumental in solving the crime. The agents of the GFD Homicide Division recovered other images from the cameras of the neighboring businesses Orchard Hills Apartments, since on the corner there is a gas station and a supermarket among other businesses.

Thanks to these images on the street, detectives were able to identify the car in which María Molina was traveling with the other two men. After two weeks of investigations, the agents also identified his alleged accomplice as Jesús Ángel Gómez Jr., 19, who remains a fugitive. The other involved in the crime has not been identified.

The young María Molina is already detained in the prison of the Dallas county waiting to face your criminal process. So far the case documents do not detail when the girl’s first hearing will be. In the investigation of the case it is not recorded what was the motive of the triple homicide.

Now the agents of the Homicide Division of the GPD need the help of the Hispanic community to arrest the fugitive Jesús Ángel Gómez Jr. and ask that if anyone knows his whereabouts call them at 972.485.4859 or the non-profit organization Garland Crime Stoppers at 972.272.8477. The detectives of the Homicide Division of the GPD also ask the residents of the West Kingsley Road around to check their cameras between 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. on that Monday, August 9, 2021, in order to identify the third alleged accomplice of María Molina in the murder of the other three people.

In Garland, Texas, Latinos are the majority of the residents in that city, since according to the United States Census Bureau it details that 43 out of every 100 inhabitants identify themselves as Hispanic.
