“With our boots on well, that’s how our dear Chocheman got ahead of us on the road one day. What does Choche mean to me?»

«A real, honest friend, a generous, loving guy, a very good person, an excellent person, the truth is that he represented tenderness and love in Bronco,” Lupe Esparza said at the beginning of the video.

Next, the ‘Que No Deja Sobre,’ ‘Sergio el Bailando’ and ‘With Heels’ singer compared the drummer to a teddy bear.

He also said he still remembers him with much love almost ten years after his death.

Before finishing the video, the leader of the group, formed in 1979 in Apodaca, Nuevo León, in Mexico, said that they pay a tribute to his compadre Choche at every concert.

In this part of the post, which so far has more than 4,000 shares, you can see a screen showing a large image of Choche displayed at one of Bronco’s concerts.

René Esparza, Lupe’s son and Bronco’s bassist, remembered when he and his brother Adán went on vacation with Bronco when they were children.

The musician also shared that Choche told them to take whatever they wanted from the minibar.

Finally, Bronco’s keyboardist Arsenio Guajardo said something surprising about José Luis Villarreal, better known as Choche.

«My dear Choche, I remember him with great affection all the years that I had the opportunity to spend with him.»

«He was a splendid person, I never saw him angry, always with a smile, with a joke, with a comment to finish the situation, well here I take him, here is my dear Chocheman.»

«I send you a big hug my dear Choche to wherever you are.»

Earlier this year, in addition to introducing Arsenio Guajardo as Bronco’s new keyboardist and accordionist, Lupe Esparza declared that he has the right to continue using the name of the Apodaca group.

The group, also known as El Gigante de América, makes it clear that the recent departure of Ramiro Delgado Jr. was not due to the differences between his father, Ramiro Delgado, and the group.

Nor have they reached an agreement with the former member, “As for the name, well obviously Ramiro is not the founder of Bronco, really. I decided to share 50-50 with him, but really the name is mine,” clarified the singer.

He recalled that it was he who paid to recover the name, as it belonged to his former representative Óscar Flores, so they had to use the name El Gigante de América.

Lupe Esparza also pointed out that when his former partner, Ramiro, left the group, his son was invited to join.

“We could have made the decision to go directly with Arsenio (the new member), who is musically ingenious, but we feel a moral obligation to Ramiro Jr., because he is his son,” he explained.

When asked if there was any reaction from Ramiro now that his son is no longer in the group, he said he did not know.

«We don’t know, but we are not going to delve further into the matter.»

May the music live on

«I hope that God continues to give me the strength to continue directing this young Bronco in the future and pass the baton to them, but a date or time has not yet crossed my mind,» said Lupe Esparza.

«Obviously, everything has a term… I hope that God gives me the license so that when I decide to let the group sit in my favorite chair and see that Bronco continues to triumph.»

«It is a guajiro dream, but it is a dream full of faith and enthusiasm so that the story of Bronco does not die.»

The new member of the quintet, Arsenio Guajardo, is a 36-year-old musician.

Originally, they called themselves Los Broncos de Apodaca, since it was customary to include the state or region from which they came and finally it was shortened to Bronco.

Their first professional job was in Agua Fría, a town very close to the municipal seat of Apodaca, Nuevo León.

They visited radio stations in Monterrey, presenting themselves as a BRONCO.

They say that this first single was only played on an AM station XEOK.

Their first full-length album was recorded for the Fama label, it included the song ‘I Want to Tell You.’

It was the only time Manuel Caballero played drums for the group.

Lupe Esparza’s song ‘Sergio el Bailando’ became a radio hit.

Due to health problems, and to dedicate himself to his family businesses, Erik left the group and was replaced by Ramiro Delgado, a member of another group, Los Cazadores, and a friend of Homero Hernández.
