Luis Ángel Alvarado was arrested in Texas accused of the shooting homicide of Santos Cedillo after an altercation between neighbors. The Homicide Division of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) announced Alvarado’s arrest on Tuesday morning, October 6, 2021.

The young Luis Ángel Alvarado, 21, is already detained in the prison of the Bexar County in San Antonio accused of the homicide of Santos Cedillo, 31, which according to the case documents consulted by MundoHispánico in Texas, was witnessed by other neighbors and some even videotaped the crime with their phones.

At 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, the young Luis Ángel Alvarado arrived in his car at full speed at the Granada Apartments complex, 1418 Somerset Road, in the southwest of the San Antonio metropolitan area.

Just as he entered the parking lot, Luis Ángel Alvarado got into an argument with Santos Cedillo for reasons that, so far, are not clear. The Monday after the incident was particularly hot, so many residents of the Granada Apartments took advantage of the cool of the night to leave their homes and enjoy without the brutal Texas heat.

Luis Ángel Alvarado got out of his car very upset with Santos Cedillo and the two Hispanics continued their heated discussion. The chaotic scene between Alvarado and Cedillo attracted the attention of neighbors outside their houses who came to see the entire sequence of events.

Some neighbors approached the lawsuit between Luis Ángel Alvarado and Santos Cedillo by charging their cell phones with which they began to record the conflict between the two men. Luis Ángel Alvarado, according to the videos, when getting out of his car was carrying a semi-automatic pistol in his right hand. Santos Cedillo’s wife was also at the scene and tried to intervene when she saw her husband threatened by Luis Ángel Alvarado’s weapon. However, before anyone could help the victim, Alvarado fired a round of shots in the torso of his rival who fell dead in the Granada Apartments parking lot.

After Luis Ángel Alvarado shot Santos Cedillo, he got into his car and escaped from the crime scene. Neighbors who witnessed all the crime called the SAPD emergency number to report the crime. Homicide Division agents showed up at the scene to conduct the first investigations.
