NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA (AP) – Former tour partners Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris top the list of nominees for the CMT AwardsCMT Awards, which celebrate the best country music videos. CMT announced the nominees for its June 9 awards on Thursday, the winners of which are chosen by fan vote. Morris and Lambert have two nominations in the top video of the year category, which includes 14 contenders.

They are also nominated for female video of the year and collaborative video of the year. Morris shares two nominations with her husband, singer Ryan Hurd, first nominated for the CMT for their duet “Chasing After You.” Lambert shares two of her nominations with another former touring partner, rocker Elle King, for her loud drinking song “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” Lambert, Morris and King toured together in 2019 as part of Lambert’s “Pink Guitars and Roadside Bars” women’s tour.

Nominees for CTM Awards

Other prominent nominees include this year’s show hosts Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini, with three mentions each, including in Video of the Year. Also competing for three awards are Little Big Town and Mickey Guyton. One of the main stars of the genre, Morgan Wallen, did not receive any nominations. The singer, who has topped the popularity charts, was caught on camera using an insult racial at the beginning of the year and, like Outcome, CMT removed his videos from its programming.

“After removing Morgan Wallen from our platforms earlier this year, his videos were deemed ineligible for the 2021 CMT Music Awards,” CMT said in a statement. Although his videos were removed and he was not allowed to compete at last month’s Academy of Country Music Awards, Wallen has continued to have success on the pop and country charts, and even garnered six nominations for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. to be delivered later this month.
