Jesse Granado was arrested in Texas accused of having shot and killed David Cortina, after an argument that sparked because “something” had broken. Agents of the Homicide Division of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) captured and charged Jesse Granado with the shooting homicide, after several days of investigations in Texas.

The 49-year-old detainee Jesse Granado is already sleeping in the Bexar County in San Antonio accused of the murder charge and which, according to the Texas State Penal Code, is punished with a sentence of 20 to 99 years in prison to whoever pleads guilty after facing trial.

According to the arrest warrant against Jesse Granado, consulted by MundoHispánico In Texas, last Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 6:00 in the afternoon, the SAPD emergency number received a call from a person, who reported an “active in progress” shooting in their neighborhood.

Several SAPD patrolmen went to a house located at 900 San Patricio Street, almost on the corner of South Chupaderas Street, in the west of the San Antonio metropolitan area, where they reported the scene of the shooting. Outside the house, agents found a dead man with a trail of blood from the back of the house.

When the SAPD agents with their weapons at the ready reached the backyard of the house, they found a person at the scene and told them that he had just witnessed the entire crime. According to the witness, who said he had seen the crime, the injured man was David Cortinas and he had just had an argument with another Hispanic named Jesse Granado.

According to the witness, the confrontation broke out behind the house because “something” had broken and Jesse Granado blamed David Cortinas for that. At one point it was heard that “something thundered” and that was when the deceased today began to bleed profusely from his face. Meanwhile, Granado escaped from the crime scene, Cortinas went out to the street to ask for help.

After being shot, David Cortinas tried to seek help, but fainted. The documents of the case do not detail who is the owner, or who rents, that address where the events occurred. The details of the property in that house are essential to define responsibilities in something that the authorities discovered.

Upon reviewing the body of the wounded man, later identified as David Cortinas, 39, the agents determined that the man had already died of at least one gunshot to the face. Then the patrolmen who arrived at the crime scene requested the presence of the agents of the Homicide Division of the SAPD to carry out the investigation of the case.

Based on all the evidence and the testimony of the person who saw the crime, the agents of the Homicide Division of the SAPD issued an arrest warrant against Jesse Granado for being the alleged murderer of David Cortinas. The only thing that is not established in the documents was what is that “something” that was re-broken, that caused so much anger in the murderer.

The case documents also do not detail the nature of the relationship Jesse Granado had with David Cortinas and the other man who witnessed the crime. A detail that remains open in the investigation for the SAPD detectives is to know who owned the weapons, drugs, knives and why that person had all that.

Since that day, he has been in jail waiting to face the first hearing of the case.

He was a single father of two children who were the center of his world ”, wrote David Fasci to ask for financial solidarity.

David Fasci urged the Hispanic community “Any amount in the donation would help ease the burden that remains on the family. Thank you and God bless you ”, the man closed his message when he asked for help for the relatives of David Cortinas and who is scheduled to be buried in San Antonio Burial Park next Friday, October 15.
