We must go back five years, until April 20, 2016, to know the beginning of this bulky and extraordinary number of consecutive appearances that it maintains to this day.

That day the club received Atlético de Madrid in San Mamés. Since that date, which marks 1,990 days, Iñaki Williams participated in the four remaining matches of that course, in all of the 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and in the eight days played so far this course.

Of the 202 matches chained so far of the total of 241 that he accumulates in the highest category, Iñaki Williams started 168 and in the remaining 34 he entered from the bench. In those 202 games he has scored 39 goals.

In terms of football, the last two games have left a bad taste in Athletic’s mouth. Three points lost in added time forcing the lions to score fewer points than they deserved on the pitch. The start of the club has not been bad (2 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss), but they have condemned the final minute of some games.
