Lili Estefan says that she was willing to forgive her ex-husband, Lorenzo Luaces’ infidelity.

The Cuban host opened up and revealed new details about the breakup of her marriage to the Cuban businessman.

In a preview for Red Table Talk the El Gordo y La Flaca host raised eyebrows with details about her divorce.

She and Lauces have two children together: Lina and Lorenzo Jr.

Lili Estefan talks about infidelity and her marriage

“My husband told me he had to tell me something, and I said: ‘What, tell me quickly, I have a live show at 4’, and he says: ‘A paparazzo photographed me with a woman and they are asking for $200,000 dollars for the photos,’” Lili Estefan recounted.

The El Gordo y La Flaca host described how she learned that her husband wanted to end their 25-year marriage.

As if that were not enough, Lili Estefan revealed that she would have forgiven him.

«I never thought I would receive a letter from a lawyer saying that he had filed for divorce … impossible! … and would have done anything to save my family,» she stressed.

Lili Estefan told Despierta America host Karla Martínez that having connected with other women who have gone through the same helped her a lot.

“I thought that mine was going to be forever, but you realize that nothing is forever,» referring to her marriage to her ex-husband Lorenzo Luaces.

«The only thing that ensures life is changes, and I was exploited in my face in front of the whole world because I ended up in a scandal that I had nothing to do with it.»

«For Latinos everything is taboo: We do not talk about sexuality, we do not talk about a divorce, in front of children also nothing can be said, everything has to be perfect and life is not perfect.»

Lili’s niece Emily came out

Lili Estefan said that Emily Estefan had suffered and she’s happy she’s able to speak about it.

“I think sharing it publicly with so many people, because this is going to help so many Hispanic families who do not know how to face the ‘coming out’ of the closet of a gay son or daughter, which is now normal, but was a taboo for so many years behind.»

Lili also shared that she felt like a referee between Gloria Estefan and her daughter, Emily.

“What I experienced at the table with Emily and with Gloria I think it was also something unique, a powerful moment for Gloria because Emily reproached her for many things that I think is what normally happens when a child is gay and does not know how to communicate it.»
