LOS ANGELES (AP) – Miami Marlins Adam duvall hit a three-run homer and subsequently threw out Mookie Betts at the plate in a busy fifth inning on Sunday as the Marlins hung on to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in the final game of the series. Pablo López gave up seven hits and two runs over five innings in his first victory of the season for the Marlins, who won for just the third time in nine games.

Miami’s entire offense grew out of Duvall’s second three-run homer in three days at Dodger Stadium. Lopez and the Miami bullpen barely contained the Dodgers using multiple backups in the absence of several key hitters due to injuries. Austin Barnes doubled in and Betts drove in another run in the second inning for the defending World Series champs, who saw their four-game winning streak ended with the first loss in a nine-game series at home.

The Marlins are victorious

Two former Dodgers interviewers secured the win for Miami. Dylan Floro pitched an eighth on target and Yimi Garcia pitched the ninth for his seventh save and Betts grounded out with a runner on first to finish. For the Marlins, Puerto Rican Isan Díaz 4-0. The Dominican Magnerius Sierra 4-1. Venezuelans Pablo López 2-0 with a scored, Jesús Aguilar 1-0, Sandy León 1-0. For the Dodgers, Dennis Santana 1-0. The Venezuelan Keibert Ruíz 1-0.
