According to the report, at 08:17 hours the first explosion was detected with a column of approximately 1.6 kilometers, heading southeast, reports the Reforma newspaper.

The General Coordination of Civil Protection of Puebla urged the population to respect the safety radius of 12 kilometers in the volcano and to be attentive to the recommendations of the authorities, reported, for its part, the Excelsior.

Civil Protection indicated that in Puebla the populations that could be affected by the ash that day are San Andrés Calpan, San Nicolás de los Ranchos, Cholula, Nealtican, Tlaxcalancingo, San Bernardino de Chalchihuapan, Santa Maria Maracatepec, Atlixco, San Isidro Huilotepec, San Baltazar Atlimeyaya, San Juan Tianguismanalco and San Pedro Benito Juárez.
