According to a report from the EFE Agency, the Dominican artist Charytín Goyco returned to US television after five years of absence, a time in which «I did not feel that I could bring joy to anyone being myself,» as she confessed in an interview with Efe.

Charytín, as he prefers to be called, will be a member of the panel of judges for “Tu cara me suena”, the new reality show on the Hispanic network Univisión, where he shares with Angélica Vale, Kany García and Jesús “Chuy” Navarro, the singer of the Mexican trio Reik, the task of eliminating contestants.

“I accepted because I feel that I can finally make people enjoy honestly. In recent years I have done theater, I have acted, but I could not imagine presenting myself as Chary to the public in an honest way ”, he acknowledged.

The artist experienced firsthand the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease in her family. «My husband suffered it for nine years, but we all suffered it,» said the actress, singer, dancer and presenter.

«He died almost five years ago and it was only in the last year that I began to feel like myself, since we had the diagnosis,» she admitted.

Elín Ortiz, who had been married to Charytín since 1974, passed away in June 2016.

Although during the process of her husband’s illness the artist hosted programs such as “Escándalo TV” and “CHARYTÍN”, today she affirms that “it was quite a show”.
