WAS THE ATTACK PLANNED? Police reported an attack in the Brookhaven area. A young man, aged 20, was inside his apartment when an attacker entered and shot him. Investigations continue after the youth’s death was reported and only bullet casings were found at the scene.

The young man made it to the hospital where doctors tried to save his life but unfortunately, he did not survive. According to the authorities, the incident occurred last Friday and it was neighbors who alerted police about the gunfire in the building. The weapon was not found, nor is there a likely suspect.

Fox News, reported that the authorities said there was a shooting inside the department of César Godínez-Naba and the young man was killed. Neighbors reported the incident that occurred last Friday afternoon and said that they heard only the gunfire. The motive for the attack is unknown.

According to the Fox News, police said officers found Godínez-Naba, 20, unconscious and injured around 4:45 p.m. Friday at the entrance to his apartment. So far, the investigation still continues to find the person responsible for Godínez-Naba’s death.

So far, the Police reported that the 20-year-old man was found with several gunshot wounds and shells that were left after the attack were found in the apartment. Authorities took the casings as evidence and are continuing to investigate the death of Godínez-Naba.

Also, the Police Department stated that the young man was taken to a local hospital when he was found by the authorities, where the doctors declared him dead. Fox News reported that authorities continue to search for the suspect who caused the death of César Godínez-Naba. Neighbors have not offered information in this regard and it is expected that in the coming days, they will be able to obtain new evidence to find the person responsible for the attack. It is unknown what led to the violent incident.

«We will miss him, we will really miss him,» said Marisala Urcino, a friend of the victim’s family. «He was always there for me and he was taking care of me.» The man, who was the oldest of five siblings, was a very helpful person within the Hispanic community.

ABC4 reported that the Hispanic man’s parents had been together for many years, however, they had not walked down the aisle and they had recently decided to get married. Ávila left five children, including a one-year-old baby. Although authorities have not provided a name or description of a possible suspect at this time, they believe that the Hispanic man’s death may be gang related. Because of this the police have asked witnesses and anyone else with information about the incident to contact them at 801-840-4000.

«Any little piece of evidence, no matter if you think it is irrelevant or maybe not exactly right, can add a piece to the puzzle to help us solve this,» said UPD Sgt. Melody Cutler said. Hispanic woman’s murder ordered by her ex-husband

Another crime that shocked the Hispanic community was that of a woman whose death was caused by her ex-partner. Adela González Martínez was murdered by her ex-husband José Arnoldo Rodríguez and now the man could receive the death penalty. Rodríguez will have his final hearing for the murder of González Martínez next Monday, November 15, 2021 and on that day, the accused will know if his fate is the death penalty or life imprisonment.

Judge Gabriela García, of Criminal Court 138 in Cameron County, in southeastern Texas, set the José Arnoldo Rodríguez’s hearing for next Monday for having killed his ex-wife, Adela González Martínez, along with two other men, last year in a crime that has shocked the Hispanic community.

According to the case documents, consulted by MundoHispánico In Texas, the young mother Adela González Martínez was beaten to death in her Brownsville home. She was killed by Charly Angel Carrillo-Torres and Jonathan Xavier Román-Martínez, who were hired by José Arnoldo Rodríguez.

Adela González Martínez, 39, was the mother of the two children of her ex-husband José Arnoldo Rodríguez, 36, and paradoxically it was the defendant himself who reported the murder to the Brownsville Police Department (BPD, for its acronym in English). Allegedly to deflect suspicion away from himself.

On June 29, 2016, Adela González Martínez and José Arnoldo Rodríguez appeared before the civil courts of the Cameron County to file for divorce. The divorce was granted almost a year later, following a dispute between the two parties who agreed to joint custody of the couple’s two minor children.

José Arnoldo Rodríguez, according to his own testimony to the BPD agents, went to the house of his ex-wife Adela González Martínez at 2200 Dana Avenue in Brownsville, Texas, after he had tried calling her several times on her cell phone, but she wasn’t answering. He arrived at the house between 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning.

According to José Arnoldo Rodríguez, when he arrived at the house of his ex-wife Adela González Martínez, he noticed that the door was open. Then, allegedly concerned about what might have happened to the woman, he called the BPD emergency number without entering the house.

The BPD patrols who arrived at the house of Adela González Martínez had responded to a report that something may have happened to the woman according to her ex-husband José Arnoldo Rodríguez. The man, his mother and their two children stayed outside the house waiting for the police.

At Adela González Martínez’s house, the first two officers to arrive entered the home and searched all the rooms, until they found the woman lying on her bed in the main bedroom with her legs hanging off the mattress on one side. The woman had a pillow over her head.
