A passenger bus crashed into a house when its brakes failed in Guarda de Guerrero, on the Joquicingo-Malinalco highway in the State of Mexico. At least 19 people are dead, and dozens of passengers are injured.

The impact destroyed the front of the bus, and passengers experienced terror and anguish. Emergency workers went to the Joquicingo-Malinalco highway in the community of San José El Guarda. The accident was reported after the bus brakes had failed and crashed into a house. The injured were transferred to various hospitals.

The passengers were pilgrims who rented the bus. Unfortunately, the bus’s brakes did not work, which caused the accident. After the crash, everyone in the area was screaming and crying. The rescue workers took several minutes to arrive. Meanwhile, the passengers helped each other out of the bus that was practically embedded in the house.

The travelers were from the State of Michoacán and headed to the Chalma Sanctuary. They rented the bus to get to the Mexican faith center.

On social media, very strong images of the moment the pilgrims were leaving the bus began to circulate. They had to break the windows and use a ladder to get out. Some witnesses of the accident helped the injured. Other passengers were impossible to get out even with help because they were trapped; some were alive and others were dead.

The images are disturbing, and discretion is recommended to the public. On the ground, you can see some victims and people trying to help them as much as possible until the rescue workers arrived.

Emergency personnel of @Edomex are attending to injured people. I have instructed the heads of Civil Protection, Security, Rescue and Health to support the affected families at all times.”

The scene of the road accident was daunting. There were people lying on the ground while receiving support. Some were climbing from the bus windows. Others were setting up wooden stairs to help the pilgrims get out of the bus. The passengers were badly injured, so when the paramedics arrived, they were treated and stabilized. Then, they were taken to nearby hospitals.

By noon, the authorities have not released any information. However, social media users were shocked and immediately published photos, videos, and audios about the unfortunate event. To see the video, click here. Filed under: Bus crashes into house, brakes fail

WHAT ROCES NEXT AFTER THE UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT?

The rental bus is from Tejeda Tourism. However, it is not known if it provided a regular service. In Mexico, many transport services are irregular and charge cheaper for trips to different parts of the state. Old units in poor condition are used, though. They are in high demand because of how cheap they are.

The authorities will have to check if the company was legally established. They will determine the cause of the fatal accident that has Mexican families mourning just weeks before Christmas is celebrated. Authorities must give a report in the next few hours, especially to identify the deceased and injured people. To see the video, click here. Filed under: Bus crashes into house, brakes fail
