A real bomb threat at Yale University mobilized security forces on Friday afternoon and led to the evacuation of students and staff. According to The Sun and Daily Mail, a call was received warning of an explosive device. As a result it was decided to evacuate school personnel according to preliminary reports. The alleged bomb threat was made through the 911 emergency services. Dozens of cops in patrol cars as well as rescue personnel including, doctors and firefighters were called to standby, although at that time there were no reports of injuries.
WHO WARNED OF THE BOMB THREAT?
All this happened at around 2:35 in the afternoon and most of the buildings on campus had to be evacuated. The students and university were sheltered in safe areas until authorities arrived. Although there was an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, everything took place in an orderly fashion according to evacuation protocols.
Authorities reported that the Yale Art Gallery, the University Theater, Jonathan Edwards College, Vanderbilt Hall, Bingham Hall, Welch Hall and Grace Hopper College that are part of the New Haven campus were all evacuated. This was out of an abundance of caution in the face of the bomb threat.
AUTHORITIES MAKE DRASTIC DECISION TO SAVE LIVES
Not only did that campus receive a bomb threat, school authorities indicated that several buildings on the Old Campus also did, according to information from the local police. It was confirmed that the threat was made through telephone calls, so authorities immediately acted in to expedite the evacuation.
Using security protocols, school authorities made the decision to send students to the upper New Haven Green area. The Old Campus remained blocked to both traffic and pedestrians, as police and trained bomb personnel carefully searched every corner of the school to rule out or confirm the threat after the evacuation. VIDEOS OF MOBILIZATION ARE LEAKED AND CAUSE FEAR
Videos of the police mobilization and the dozens of onlookers approaching the area that was cordoned off by the police began to circulate on social media. NOT EVEN THE MILITARY ARE SAFE FROM BOMB THREATS
Recently, there was a similar event in the United States in late October when an active shooter and bomb threat were reported at Naval Support Activity at Bethesda Military Base. The facilities were closed by authorities and an evacuation was carried out, while a search was performed, according to The Sun and Fox 5.
Preliminary reports indicated that the threat forced those inside to take refuge wherever they could to avoid being hurt. Operations were affected and the place was closed due to the risk posed by the alleged bomb threat and the active shooter, while authorities checked every corner of the place. CONFUSION, CHAOS AND FEAR SEIZE ON A MILITARY BASE
The military base is the headquarters of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. All the doors were ordered closed after the morning alert was issued, which was reported through its official Twitter account. There was confusion and chaos, so for several minutes, no one knew what was going on until authorities concluded their investigation.

The alert read: “Bomb threat under investigation for BLDG 10 and active shooter threat. All doors are closed to non-emergency traffic.” This location is responsible for base operational support for its main operator, the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
In addition, authorities asked the public to avoid the area while security personnel responded to the scene. So far it was not clear if anyone had been injured. The base was closed at 9:30 a.m. However, no one from the base could be reached at the time.

The military base facilities are located just north of Washington, DC. The first televised images showed a large police mobilization around the area. They were searching for the alleged active shooter although an arrest has not yet been reported.
The report said: “Go inside the nearest building and shelter in place. All commandos initiate emergency plans to create shelter, said a tweet from Walter Reed. All patient appointments have been canceled”, warned the authorities through a statement issued through social media.

According to the Navy Times website, the Montgomery County police explained to the Military Times that the department responded to a “threat” at the NSA Bethesda, but had since cleared the area.
At the time it was reported on social media, there wasn’t much information available, since the police were still at the scene, searching for any device or shooter that could physically endanger anyone in the area.

The authorities did not make any arrests or detect any dangerous devices. It is expected that in the next few hours they will issue a statement about the results of the search inside the facilities.

NO RESPECT FOR SCHOOLS, SOMEONE SPARKS TERROR WITH THREAT
A few days ago, WTOL reported that Perkins High School in Ohio was closed on Friday after the institution received a bomb threat at around 7:45 a.m. In a Facebook post, the high school indicated that neither they nor the authorities considered the bomb threat to be credible. However, they assured everyone that they were taking the matter very seriously and would close the school “immediately.”
“Students driving will be released and the rest of the students will be evacuated to the Perkins High School gym. Parents and guardians can come to the back of the gym and pick up their students,” the school stated on its Facebook page. Filed as: Yale University bomb threat
WHAT DID AUTHORITIES DO WITH THE STUDENTS?
The school indicated that Furry Elementary, Meadowlawn Intermediate and Briar Middle School would remain open. It also indicated that there would be, “staff to help move traffic through the parking lanes and there will also be buses available to take students home.”
In the most recent update, the high school said all students had been evacuated from the building and teachers and staff had been sent home as police investigated the bomb threat.
