Moreno Valley is a city located in the east center of the state of California, on the I-10 highway, at the foot of the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest. The information that the RCSO agents received is that the suspect, Juan Carlos Estrada, was originally from Corona, California, but was hiding in Moreno Valley.

Based on this information, the RCSO agents begin to investigate and discover that the man could be hiding in a house located at 16000 La Fortuna Lane, a dead-end street, where perhaps the victim was also present. A person inside the house calls the RCSO emergency number and reveals that Estrada is there.

The RCSO patrols receive the information from their emergency center and then several patrols go to the house where the fugitive Juan Carlos Estada was allegedly hiding, who was classified as violent and perhaps armed. The house is located in a Cul de Sac (Bottom of the bag) which is a semicircular street design with several houses around it.

When the patrols arrive at La Fortuna Lane, they all put their patrol cars in front of the home where Estrada was supposedly hiding and with the loudspeakers, hidden behind the doors of their vehicles, they ordered the fugitive to leave. The whole story is contained in the videos of the body cameras of the agents.

An RCSO patrolman was placed with his patrol in the house next door, protected by a fence, and on the side covers his companions who are parked in front. Then they take out their weapons and start yelling at Estrada that they know he’s inside, that he has an arrest warrant and that it is better that he turn himself in.

Just at that moment a woman called the emergency number again and tells the operator that she is inside the house with Juan Carlos Estrada and that she is very scared. The woman tells the operator that she thinks the man is carrying a gun. At that moment, Estrada leaves the house and walks towards the officers.

The cops yell at him to turn around and with his arms up. During some moments Juan Carlos Estrada follows the orders of the agents. However, for some reason that will never be known, he turns to the RCSO patrol cars and with a dark-hued object in his hand, he points them at them.

«Gun, gun, gun!»

It is then that the at least four police officers who are in front of the house shout «gun, gun, gun!» alerting each other to the alleged pistol carried by Juan Carlos Estrada. Only the officer who is stationed next to the house is the only one who does not shoot.

The rain of bullets that falls on Estrada causes him to collapse in the garage of the house, next to a car, and when the agents run to try to assist him, they can no longer do anything to save his life. Juan Carlos Estrada is declared dead at the scene.

The officers involved are removed from their positions

According to information from RCSO spokesperson Sergeant Deanna Pecoraro, the names and ranks of the agents involved in the incident will not be released by the corporation. The four officers were placed in administrative duties while investigations are being conducted in the case for the death of Juan Carlos Estrada.
