A SAD FAREWELL. After various rumors about the death of Vicente Fernández, the Mexican idol’s death was confirmed on December 12, at 6:15 in the morning, local time. Several colleagues and friends have sent their condolences to the Fernández family in the face of their irreparable loss.

The Charro de Huentitán had been hospitalized for several months and yesterday it was confirmed that his health was in a fragile state. But the family had stated that he was still alive. Unfortunately, the rumors were confirmed this Sunday morning and now people are paying tribute to the legend of Regional Mexican music.

One of the first people to offer their condolences for the singer’s departure was the actress Arlette Terán who, through social media, lamented the singer’s death. The actress posted a couple of pictures where she’s seen at the side of ‘El Chente’ and said that she was devastated by the sad news.

Singer Paquita la del Barrio offered her condolences to the Fernández family through an interview with Foro TV. The singer recounted her experience while being on stage with the singer and said that she was quite saddened by the death of her colleague. Paquita stated that he was an exceptional human being and that she would always remember him because of their friendship.

“A precious human being, for there to be another Vicente Fernández is very difficult. For me, the man was wonderful. Sometimes he would say hello to me and I to him, it was a very beautiful friendship. When I sang with him, it was an honor,” Paquita said in an interview. “It was wonderful, because there was enthusiasm. He conveyed to the public what he did, a very wise man. I didn’t realize that he was passing behind the curtain, listening to me, until one day I was told ‘Don Vicente is passing behind you, listening to you.’ I’m so sorry,” the singer said in an interview.

“Vicente Fernández dies at 81, after months in the hospital. My deepest condolences to his family,” Raúl De Molina said on social media confirming the news of the singer’s death. The host of ‘El Gordo y la Flaca’ released the news for the Hispanic public in the United States.

It was an honor and a great pride to share with everyone a great musical career and to give everything to his audience. Thank you for continuing to applaud, thank you for continuing to sing.”

Minutes earlier Paty Chapoy had posted on Twitter: “Sad news. Today Vicente Fernández leaves us”, accompanied by a photo of the Charro de Huentitán with a message that read, “Rest in peace Vicente Fernández.” After confirmation from the host of Ventaneando, journalist Joaquín López Dóriga also confirmed on Twitter: “The great Vicente Fernández has died; my condolences to his family, friends and, of course, to his audience.”
