After restriction for quarantine and returning to school, Miguel Lugo, a Latino student, dies after finishing football practice at Wallkill High School in New York, reported the news portal of New York Post.

The first reports indicate that the 17-year-old adolescent was playing linebacker and at one point collapsed.

The authorities are investigating the event and so far the reasons that caused the death of the young college football player are unknown.

The season and classes had resumed after several months of stopping activities due to the restrictions applied by the pandemic.

However, on the first day of school at Wallkill High School, a student dies at the end of football practice.

“He was a vibrant, healthy boy who lit up any room he walked into. Now his family stays here to wonder why? Why Miguel? He had a heart of gold and anyone who knew him loved him very much, ”said his aunt Angela Morales.

He then wrote on a GoFundMe page that his death was “unexpected” and that it shocked not only his family, but people close to him.

A person close to Miguel Lugo told the media that a 911 call was made around 8:35 pm, in which they reported a man experiencing seizures in the lobby.

When the news broke that a student died after finishing football practice at a school in New York, it was reported that he was taken to a hospital, where his death was officially decreed.

But the news that a student died after finishing football practice at a New York school, his aunt Angela Morales, could not contain the family’s pain.

“We will never know why the Lord took him home so soon, he clearly needed an angel to take one of the best,” he said.

In turn, the superintendent of the Wallkill Central School District, Kevin Castle, gave the official report of the death of Miguel Lugo and sent his condolences through a letter to the parents.

“I had the pleasure of meeting Miguel and when he saw me, he never hesitated to say hello,” Castle wrote in a letter held by the Daily Freeman.

“He was very loved by both students and adults. The Wallkill Learning Community will really miss Miguel, ”officials commented.

Investigations into the death of the football player continue until the causes of death are known, while the family is devastated by the tragedy that occurred.
