In California, the program Golden State Stimulus II will continue to be delivered as of November 29 one-time payments of $500 to $1,100 to residents with adjusted gross income [AGI] between $1 and $75,000. It is also a requirement that the person have lived in the state for more than half of the 2020 tax year.

This help does not discriminate in terms of a person’s immigration status. So residents without a social security number but have a Personal Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) qualify to receive the money. The next batch of checks is scheduled to be sent on December 13. Payments will continue until the end of 2021, by which time nearly 9 million people are expected to have received the aid.

Families in Maryland will also be able to receive more money over the next three years through tax refunds. Under this benefit, for example, families with two children earning $25,000 could receive up to $1,100 annually.
